Beth R. “I was lucky to find this art studio online! Always wanting to try painting, it was a great place to start. The class teaches you everything you need to know about painting; types of paint and brushes to use, how to choose what to paint, laying out your canvas, brush stroke techniques AND the teachers make it fun! They personally help with your work each week, spending one on one time with you during the class. It is also a BYOB class so you can bring your favorite drink and loosen up and relax as you paint. I made some great connections with other students in the class. I love the experience and friendliness of the Chicago Art and Design Center and will definitely be signing up for another session to grow my art skills”
Nichole ” I just finished my first (and definitely not last) art class with Derin. After giving up art for about a decade I had been itching to pick up a paintbrush and get my feet wet in the field again. I chose Oil for Beginners even though my background had been in acrylic and watercolors. My nerves would get the best of me for at least the first half hour of each class but Derin’s patience and professionalism helped me ease back into a rhythm. Also, Derin is willing to place you as needed for makeup class when your personal schedule conflicts. I can’t say anything bad about my experience except that the class ended.
Didi “This is a great place to learn Art. It seems to be a good place for both beginners and experienced. You will feel like you’re getting a pretty good deal compare to other Art Centers. Overall, I would definitely recommend taking classes here. All instructors are great and very supportive. They make you feel comfortable with your art piece.”
Katie “I just finished the 5 week Beginner’s OIL PAINTING class here . The class starts out with a simple still life then you move on to a bowl of fruit, and then a photo of a flower. The teacher was fun and offered lots of good advice on technique. I really enjoyed the class and would love to return in the future for the advance class.”
